BiltongBaas was born from a love of tradition, flavour, and sharing South Africa’s favourite snack with others.
Sonia grew up on a smallholding where her family raised cattle and sheep. When the fridges ran empty, her dad would lead the way as the family processed their own meat — turning fresh cuts into biltong, droëwors, and chilli bites from scratch. Those years instilled in Sonia a deep respect for quality and the craft of making food that brings people together.
When Jannie joined the journey, he brought his sharp eye for detail and business know-how to Sonia’s heritage of flavour. Together, they created BiltongBaas – a brand that takes generations of tradition and gives it a fresh, modern twist.
Today, BiltongBaas delivers premium, seriously tasty biltong in hampers, snack boxes, and shop-ready stock — always crafted with care, always proudly South African.
